Busy night. First we all made our way to High Park to watch Matthew's team lose to the club he used to play for last year. Then, we settled down to watch the last hour of today's Tour de France stage. This route began and finished in Montpélier, featuring team time trials; each team must cover 39 kilometres as quickly as possible. Five members of each team are required to cross the finish line (they start with 9 riders) as the time is taken after the fifth cyclist passes the line. Today, Lance's team—Astana—pushed hard, moving within 40 seconds of team Saxo Bank where Fabian Cancellara currently holds the maillot jaune. With 5 kilometres to go, Phil Ligget—one of the excited British commentator—took a deep breath and stated: "They've done the technical bit, they have the wind at their tails and the yellow jersey is on the washing line."
In the end, Cancellara managed to keep the his jersey. Just. Lance Armstrong finished just one tenth of a second behind him. Very exciting stuff. This tour is shaping up to be quite entertaining and the mountain stages begin on Friday. Right now, it's off to catch Canada play El Salvador (and hopefully advance) in the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament. A sporty night indeed!

How time flies by…seems like only yesterday that last year's Tour De France race was on and we went to Niagara Falls. Hope your team does well. Allez! Allez! Allez!
