Ah, Mina.
Our Wee-Marina has a hard time remembering certain things that need doing every day; actually, the bulk of the family suffers from this. Yesterday was a prime example. She'd gone back upstairs to her room to get something from her backpack. I was on my way downstairs and paused on the top step when I saw her following me.
"Aren't you forgetting something?"
"Like what?"
"Like, your bag?"
She turned and looked, "Oh, yeah." then headed back to her room. The bag was sitting in plain sight, on the floor, right below the window.
"I can't find it!"
A little bemused—because I could see if from the staircase—I replied: "It' right there, in front of you!"
"Ohhh." and I saw her walk over to the bag.
Five minutes later, as we were piling into the little space by the door to leave, I turned once again to Marina and asked: "Where's your bag now?"
She paused for a minute, then a light clicked on: "Oh! It's upstairs in my room!"
"Your room?! But you just brought it down five minutes ago."
"No, I forgot it up there."
Certainly not a trait she gets from me!

Curious to know what was in the bag?....from my years of teaching teens, I have discovered they have excellent selective memory.....

Oh sure, they remember completely useless stuff like the thing that guy said on that show they saw last November at 11:18 in the morning.
But stuff that they do every.single.day? Like getting their lunch? Now *that's* hard to remember!

Must be a trait from your side of the family, Mike!!! Couldn't possibly be from our side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mina obviously had her mind of something much more important.

Mina has a mind of her own, things like a bag is far from being important, after all she has to carry this thing all over once she picks it up, if she leaves it behind, perhaps someone like mom or dad will carry it for her.
