It's 8:44 and the next door dogs are barking. Again. It's a daily affair and it can go on for quite a bit. My going outside to berate them only makes the barking worse. Trust me when I tell you it's sometimes quite difficult to concentrate.
We had a lovely, quiet weekend. Anne and Sophie stayed over on Friday night, meeting us after Matthew's Select practice in which Jennifer and I help field the parents team. As she put it, the kids ran circles around us but I contend that that's because they wore cleats and the grass was slick.
Saturday, René and I went to our first TFC game in a month; they lost of course, because it seems all my football teams are on losing streaks. And yesterday, we had a visit from our old friends Effi and Larry whom we hadn't seen in some time. It was a wonderfully relaxing visit and we regaled them with tales of our reno and what transpired for me at work.
Speaking of work, I still haven't had any luck although it's only been three months and most of that, throughout the summer which is traditionally quiet anyway, what with holidays. Speaking with an agent at Service Canada, she told me it's the worst summer she's ever seen. Great.
But it's not like I haven't been busy. In fact, I'm almost as busy as I was when I was working. Unfortunately, I'm not getting paid; a minor detail, I know. One can only hope that my belief in Karma will come to fruition at some point.
Anyway, that's it for now. I've got to get back to work before I head to another meeting at 11:00.
Wish you lots of luck re: job-hunting. If you need any references - you can refer them to your favourite mother-in-law!!!!!!!!!!!
How nice to meet up with old friends - very satisfying.
Re: loosing soccer teams...you will have to choose more carefully. Our favoured rugby team always, well, nearly always, does pretty darned well.............

Anyone who keeps busy does not have time to get in trouble and yes Karma will eventually do its thing, giving our time and effort to others cannot possibly be without reward, it has proven itself again and again through time.

Joy, you can't just change teams based on who's winning. You pick a team for whatever reason and stick with them; at least, that's what I tell Matthew.
